The showcasing of Tramuntana delicacies took centre stage on 27th October at the intimate inauguration of the latest Son Moragues venture – the Son Moragues FoodLab in Valldemossa. Greeted by press and international collaborators, Mallorca´s pastry chef Tomeu Arbona – renowned for his delicate recovery of traditional recipes – honoured the launch of the gastronomic hub with a variety of historic dishes originating in and around Valldemossa. As a prelude to the culinary experience, Tomeu Arbona enchanted guests with a magic baker´s ceremony accompanied by the beautiful voice of Julia Colom leaving the audience with goosebumps.
Located in an old townhouse with vintage interiors, the Son Moragues FoodLab has been designed as a space to inspire innovation in the kitchen, share gastronomic experiences and explore local culture through the lens of food in a cosy setting. It envisages to host any kind of activity from wine tastings to showcooking as well as provide executives with an informal space for business meetings.
The open kitchen boosts ample space to seat up to 12 people or host 40 guests in an informal atmosphere and offers a cosy outdoor terrace with romantic views of the Valldemossa Charterhouse.
